Old Faces

I was in Halifax on Friday night where I saw a few old faces from the past. Not that I recognised any of them. Vicki from Vicki and Sharon recognised me so we had a quick catch up. I then thought I saw Louise but maybe I didn't. Wasn't sure it was her so I didn't approach. The Nicola incident was too fresh in my mind. A couple of friends of my ex girlfriend then recognised me late on in the Colisseum. They've changed a lot. I didn't have a long chat with them as I feel my speech was a bit slurred by that point but it's good to know they're ok.

I was quite hungover the morning after. This may have been due to me having my first pints since April last year. That would be over a year then. I did quite enjoy them although I only had 2 and coupled with 6-8 (not quite sure) of my favourite tipple this left me quite tipsy. A formula for this is S=2P (looks like a week of business finance tuition has gone to my head!

A Quick Rant

I've been going on the train to Leeds this week. On Monday there was a guy playing Asian music loud on his phone, and Tuesday someone playing loud dance hits of the 90s. Haven't they heard of earphones? Kids as well. 5 in front of me today fighting from Leeds to Halifax. Hopefully tomorrow will be more peaceful.

In brighter news i'm back up to 1st in fantasy football. 3 weeks to go!

I'm tired.

Busy Bank Holiday

I've been at college this Easter Monday. To go with the pain of a first thing test we got a creme egg too which was nice as i've not got any Easter eggs this year.

I'm back to the top in fantasy football for a few hours but since Rooney scored twice tody that should knock me off again. Grrrrrr! I you know I like being near the top (rephrased from on top). A few months back I was 7th in the country at Pro Evolution Soccer 5. It appears there was an oversight with the system and that defeats were not being included. I'm now 790th. Nuff said.

Snooker Tickets From eBay Invalidated

I've just heard that any tickets purchased through eBay for the 2006 888.com World Snooker Championships will be invalidated. I'm not sure how this will work as many people black out the seat number when selling. Maybe they'll be asking for ID on the door. I'm just posting this as a warning to those who are prepared to pay lots of money for tickets when they could be worth nothing at all. It does say on the tickets that they are not for resale and unlike last year (when I bought one off eBay) it looks like they are clamping down on the ticket touts. My advice would be to go to eBay, see what tickets are being sold and then phone the Crucible Box Office as they will be reselling them at market value.

It's Nearly Easter

I'm having some time off work at the moment - about three weeks as it turns out. However I am at FT on Easter Monday which is not good and for the rest of next week too. I'm working for a couple of days the following week and then I'm off until 2nd May. I guess I'll be studying and doing student society accounts and exciting things like that during my time off. How sad!

Kate, her mum, JJ and I went to The Big Six on Monday where we beat a team of "12" (twelve) by around 30 points. I'm sure we weren't quite that bad five or six years ago. On Tuesday night Kate JJ and I met up with Amanda and Luke for a quiet catch up drink which was pleasant.

I'm 3rd in The Sun Fantasy Football now but due to the top player earning a bonus 20 points at the end of the season, if the season was to finish now I would be 2nd. I would say i'm in good shape for £5000 but the Easter fixtures are bound to help determine how well things are going.

Science Proved Wrong

Back in January I did a "Scientific Experiment about playing poker after alcohol and a night out with Rob and Ann. Well, the parameters were the same again tonight so I tried a different slant. I upped the stakes (I wouldn't recomend this to anyone) to play at my normal level ($25) and won the tourney. This was only after 6 of the Smirnoff/Vodka Ices and I may have had one or two more in January. It was also Friday the thirteenth before. Maybe there is a limit of six. Maybe I'll try again. Maybe I won't. It was busy in town tonight. It's Easter soon. I've banged my thumb on the doorframe and it's gone purply. I think it's bedtime now.

Top Of The League - I'm Having A Laugh

After a stunning performance and goal from Jiri Jarosik on Tuesday, I am now top of Sun Dream Team. Just six weeks or so to hold on now! It's exciting but i'm not counting any chickens as bird flu is about to spread and I may plummet if certain Thierry Henry's get injured.

I'm feeling much better after Monday now and would like to thank everyone for their nice comments. Still not 100% but definitely getting there.

Shaken But Not A Time For Corny Cliques

The AA finally came after a ninety minute or so wait and we got taken to a friendly garage in Hemel Hempstead (at least I think it was Hemel Hempstead as I wasn't too sure on our bearings). It certainly wasn't the town centre and we had a late lnch in a pub which was nowhere near empty. My first thoughts were whether anyone had a job round there. Anyway enough of that.

The garage (D J Performance Ltd) were very kind to us and special thanks go to recovery driver Chris and the boss who I would liken to Peggy Mitchell off Eastenders! The real AA then came in an old uncomfortable recovery vehicle and then swapped to a newer one at Donington Park Services. Both of their drivers were also friendly.

No details about the crash on here yet - I don't want the blog taken to court. Just to say I'm now at home (obviously) and my first hotel stay for over ten years will have to wait.

P.S. I was quite impressed with the e-mail sent to the blog earlier while I was bored, it seems the New Ways To Blog are useful though I doubt I'll ever be posting from there again!

Crash

I'm on the side of the m25 after an accident. Not
good. Not hurt enough for hospital. Ooh more police...
They've gone. Wish the aa would hurry up.

I'm Working Away

Not like Craig David. I believe he is walking away. Tomorrow I'm heading off to Epsom for a couple of nights for my first ever time working where I have to stay away rom home. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel, It's definitely been a while like nine or ten years or something. Anyway i'm sure it will be fine. It'll be good to audit again as I haven't been out on audit for about seven or eight months or so now. I'm only in the office three days this month!

I was up at 4am today to watch the Australian Grand Prix live because it's not the same recorded live. I did go back to sleep at 7 and get up at 12 so that should make up for any loss of sleep. The same applied to qualifying yesterday. Late night terrestrial telly just got worse as Quizmania was demoted to ITV2 from Friday but I guess it had lost some of it's novelty appeal.

Thierry Henry scored twice yesterday propelling me up the Dream Team standings but how far I don't yet know. I went to watch Hudersfield yesterday against Barnsley in front of the biggest crowd since the Division 3 Play Off match against Lincoln a couple of years ago. We won 1-0 after they missed a couple of sitters but automatic promotion is still on. Come on the Town!!!
